The Idol of Gork

As promised here's the second instalment of the Idol of Gork Empire Army.

The historical forces of Manfred Von Bock included two hand gunner regiments each 10 strong. Having bought the 6th Ed Warhammer boxed set I had nearly enough for the two regiments. A lucky ebay purchase of a big Warhammer Job lot acquired enough to secure the two units. As with the Halberdiers the command sections will be mostly made up from Perry Miniatures War of the Roses figures. These are under primer and awaiting their top coats.

Next up will be a unit of Orc Boar Boys I started painting ages ago. They're needed for the Second Scenario.

Back and with a new idea! The Idol of Gork

I had originally intended to post this months ago just after lock down ended in the UK. Instead it's well in to October and we could be looking at a second lockdown in the not too distant future!

The plan was for us to play one of the 5th Ed campaigns, specifically the Idol of Gork. This was to give us the motivation to paint up some of our mountain of bare miniatures and give us a bit of a gaming/modelling focus.

The plan is to try and recreate the 'Historical' forces as listed in the campaign pack but to do so at minimal cost. I've been busy working on the Empire Forces and so far I've managed to finish the first third of Von Bocks Halberdiers. This will eventually be 30 strong.

In order to keep costs down I've used Battlemasters Halberdiers and Perry miniatures War of the Roses figures for the command.

The colour scheme is yellow and black and they'll get yellow eagles on their shields as this will be the scheme for the entire Empire Army as it's based on the colour scheme from the Mighty Empires game. the red and green accents are Von Bocks colours.

Next post should look at one of the Handgunner regiments.
